Taint pranced back and forth in his 50x50 paddock. Every person that went by him he pranced along the fence with them until the fence stopped him, then Reared to show off his muscular body, Quarter Horse Linage showing in every muscule. The sign on the gate of his paddock read:

He hung his head over the fence and neighed to every horse and person that walked by. As each horse was sold, Taint's owner started to give up. The young woman, with short red hair began to get ready to leave for the day, packing up horse feed and hay. She started to put Taint's halter on when she stopped and waited a few minutes for any last offers on the beautiful paint stallion............................[/center][/color]

Justin strolled around the auction grounds, making another attempt at finding anything good. He hit himself for getting here so late in the day, as he'd seen some wonderful horses leaving the auction. As he glanced toward one of the last pastures, he almost fell over. He stared for a moment, but instantly hurried over, like it was a race to get there, even though no one else was around.

Sadie Olero strolled through the crowd. The setting sun made her soft sienna hair flecked with gold, but her mind was not on the late day...she wanted a horse, she needed a horse. Her long break from Moon Eye Court had cost her most favourite horse in the world...he was dead when she returned. The 'friend' she asked to look after him had zoomed off on her honeymoon, without notifying Sadie.
Now the 23 year old was heartbroken, and she knew that the only glue that would heal the shattered pieces inside her would be another horse. Someone to treasure and love evermore...and her eyes fell on a glamorous skewbald stallion looking quite lonely with his beautiful head bent low over the fence. She approached, and as he nickered wearily to passers-by, something just clicked. The horse - Tainted Lover Boy, she could see his name was - was made for her.
She approached his owner, who was already packing up her stuff. Sadie's brother Chris had given her a fair amount of cash for her birthday, perhaps double what he would usually get - but perhaps he was guilty for not being there to check on her former horse. It had felt wrong, her brother giving her the money, but nothing could be helped- and Sadie did not regret it, now she saw the stallion's price.
Tapping the owner gently on the shoulder, she said lightly,
Would $5,000 be enough for your beautiful horse?
A light seemed to glow in her hazel eyes, and she put a warm, soft, comforting hand on Taint's neck. She rubbed him tenderly, smiling. He was -in one word- beautiful.

Taint's owner looked at the two people looking at her stallion, "Do you have a better offer for him ?!" She asked Justin.

Taint flenced as Jsutin came running up, when Sadie came and up and started to rub his neck he closed his eyes and moved his crania up and down. He suddenly whirled around on his hanches and took off at a full run, he bucked a little then reared as high as his hauches would let him. He pawed at the sky, landed at shot toward the fence, he stopped on a dime right at the fence, dirt flew into the faces of the 3 people standing at the fence. He stuck his head over the fence and rub his head on Sadie then Justin..............

Justin glanced at the newcomer as she appeared next to him, his eye looking her up and down quickly before his attention was turned back to the owner. "I have $10,000 cash, but I can offer more," he replied simply, his hand raising to scratch the beautiful fellow just behind the ear.

Taint's owner looked at Sadie with an expression that seemed to say Got a better offer ?!

Taint leaned in toward Justin as he scratched his ear.

Sadie smiled, then laughed as the stallion seemed to accept her. She took a quick look at Justin, smiled off-handedly and replied to the owner $20,000 then. She was determined to get Tainted Lover Boy - if she wouldn't get him, she was sure her heart would shatter and stop.

Taint's owner put his halter on him and lead him out of the paddock. Here he is...... She handed Sadie the lead rope......

Taint pranced around with his crania held high, as His owner handed Sadie the lead rope he rubbed his forehead on Sadie's arm.

Sadie smiled, taking a large amount of bank notes from her baby-blue purse. She counted out twenty thousand dollars, and, hesitating for just a second, passed it to the former owner of Tainted Lover Boy. With that, she packed it back into her bag. She grinned as Taint rubbed his head against her arm, stroking the back of his neck with her soft hands. She took the lead rope, smiling, and with one hand looped over Taint's neck, led him towards her trailer.
